How to Share Your AI-Powered Responses from Google Search When you use AI Overviews or AI Mode in Google Search, you can easily generate a shareable link to your specific AI-generated response. This makes it simple to pass along travel itineraries, complex recipe guides, or quick summaries to friends, family, or online forums.
Because generative AI responses are continuously being updated by Google, having a static, shareable link ensures that others see the exact information you found.
Before getting started, ensure you have enabled your Web & App Activity so your Search history is active. Without this setting enabled, the option to share responses will be unavailable. Step-by-Step: How to Share Your Response
To create and send a shareable link, follow the simple steps tailored to your specific device below: On Computer Go to the Google Search homepage or navigate to AI Mode.
At the bottom of the AI response thread you want to share, click Share. Choose how you want to share it:
To a social platform: Click the icon of the available social network and follow the on-screen instructions.
To copy the link: Click copy to save the shared link to your clipboard. You can then paste it into any email draft, messaging app, or forum. On Mobile (Android, iPhone, & iPad)
Open the Google app or visit AI Mode from your mobile browser.
Locate the AI Overview or AI Mode response you wish to share.
At the bottom of the AI response (or at the bottom of the screen), tap Share.
Choose your preferred sharing method—either post directly to a supported social platform or tap copy to paste the link elsewhere. What Happens When You Share a Thread?
When you share an AI Mode thread, Google handles the privacy and continuity of the conversation in a very specific way:
No subsequent changes: If you ask a follow-up question in your private thread after creating the shareable link, those new questions and answers will not appear in the link you shared.
Entire thread access: If you share a specific response, the recipient will be taken to that point but will be able to scroll through the entire thread you just shared to see your earlier questions.
No thread crossover: When someone else clicks your link and adds new follow-up questions, it creates a completely separate, private thread in their own account. Managing Your Shared Links
You can easily review, reshare, or delete the public links you have created directly from your account history. Navigate to AI Mode on your browser or open the Google app.
Click or tap AI Mode history (found at the top of your screen or on the left menu on desktop). Select Manage public links.
From here, you can copy the link to share again or select Delete to remove the link completely. If you’d like, I can:
