Kidz Bop 1 is the debut album that launched the massively successful, family-friendly Kidz Bop music franchise. Initially released on October 9, 2001, by Razor & Tie entertainment, the album was designed to bridge the gap between children’s music and mainstream pop hits by censoring explicit or suggestive content. Key Album Overview Original Release Year: 2001 Original Track Count: 18 tracks

Core Concept: Chart-topping pop and rock tracks covered with kid-friendly lyrics.

The “Pre-Era” Vocals: Unlike modern Kidz Bop albums which feature a dedicated group of children singing, the early albums featured adult session singers performing the main verses, while a chorus of children chimed in for the background vocals. Tracklist (Y2K Classics)
